Doug Collins started working on roofs in the early 1960s. What began as a trade became a career, and that career became Collins Roofing, Inc. — a commercial roofing company he founded in 1973 and built over the next 50 years into a multi-million dollar operation serving the Intermountain West.
When Doug sold Collins Roofing, Inc. in 2022, he had spent five decades on both sides of every roofing decision a property owner faces. He knew what good installation looked like, what it looked like when corners had been cut, and where building owners consistently got taken advantage of.
That knowledge was too useful to retire with. DC Roof Consulting, LLC exists to put it directly in the hands of the people who need it most — as a fully independent consultant with no roofing work to sell.

Founded Collins Roofing, Inc.
Started the company in 1973, incorporated in 1974. Built it from a small operation into a multi-million dollar commercial roofing company serving the Intermountain West.
1974 – 2022
Operated Collins Roofing, Inc. for 50 years
Grew the company into one of the Intermountain West's established commercial roofing operations — working on every major roof system type across six states.
2022
Sold Collins Roofing, Inc.
After five decades, transitioned out of installation and into independent consulting — to put 60 years of knowledge directly in the hands of property owners.

Providing independent commercial and residential roof inspections, HOA inspections, consulting, warranty inspections, legal and dispute support, and specification writing across Utah and the Intermountain West.
